put in some piano for ~ambiance~ towards the end hehe
i sent it to the others and im just waiting to hear back from them abt any final edits/when i should post it!!
also done with rough edit of ep 2, still got some sound things to adjust but otherwise its good!
in the meantime i have homework to do but also i'll start on ep 3.
(btw a friend volunteered to transcribe the first 15 mins of ep 1, unfortunately we dont have anyone fully on that task [and my plates v full w editing] so episodes will likely come out w/o complete transcriptions, however im gonna have a gdoc open to the public so ppl can contribute to the transcription if they feel so inclined. hopefully that works out well, i rly want this to be accessible to everyone but also i cant do everything myself aha!)

Mal clutches Chuffles tighter and nods silently as a sort of vivid darkness gathers around their head.
The third panel is golden and warm as Mal's mom stands smiling down at them. Her hair is pulled back in a ponytail and her face is kind. She says, "Alright. Ready?" and holds out a backpack.

sup folks ik ive been inactive lately, 's because i'm working on a *gasp* finished art thign?????? well. will be finished. and also editing!!! still.........im getting somewhere tho!!
im not sure how many people will really??end up listening to the podcast since this is a tiny site and im literally just some kid with audacity and not part of a podcast network or anything??? but i'm at least gonna try because i want to keep editing and hopefully people will like it!!! in the meantime theres a small pile of related art and stuff at @UnidentifiedBlog which is also where i'll post uh the episodes once im finished with them!

i want to make it a group blog with the others but it hasnt worked so far and also im not sure they want to run it specifically so right now its just me but yeah- expect more related art soon >=3 and also first episode also soon!! assuming i post it once it's finished there's also the complicated thing of figuring out who does transcriptions because honestly i've already done so much work editing things that i'd love if someone else could do that part but i dont think any of them are up for it, i've heard about other podcasts having community-run transcriptions but since we have 0 community since i havent even posted the first episode or anything yet that wont work for the beginning at least, i want it to be accessible but also it's a lot of work and stuff so we'll see if i can find someone to do that?? if not i'll probly post it but still keep an eye out for a good way to do that.
i'm excited though...we really want to share this story, it's been so fun to play!! hopefully it will be fun for others too!!

Mal: "So again, your alibi is...a mysterious stranger handed you the gun, made you put your prints on it, robbed the store, and then hid the gun in your underpants." [A series of scribbles shows R doing these things except instead of robbing a store they kick Tina into a hall of mirrors.]
Zak: "Well yeah, if you say it like that it don't sound believable."
Mal: "Oh, hey Captain! Did you get my report on the Finley murder?"
Luka: "Uh, yeah I looked it over--nice work."
Mal: "Good. Thanks, Dad."
[silence. in the background Zak laughs so hard he falls out of his seat.]
Mal: "Why is everyone staring at me?"
(offscreen): "You just called Captain Holt 'Dad'. You said 'thanks, Dad'."
Mal: "What? No I didn't--I said 'thanks, man.'"
Luka: "Do you see me as a father figure, Peralta?" [In the last frame, text next to Mal's head says "maybe".]

Mal doesn't know how much to tell.
Of course their patron has already told them the pact does not have to be secret, but still they have their doubts. They know he has their best interests in mind, and yet...he's so disconnected from this reality that they doubt he would understand. It's a sensitive thing, to reveal that your magic is not your own.
And Mal has just woken up from a very important dream.
How much can they tell before the others ask too many questions?

Mal takes another look yet it seems nothing has changed. "Still just space..."
The figure gets blurrier now. While at first they were an indescribable mote of light now they seem to be made of the blur of a faded photograph. Their gaze almost seems to be going through you. "Look harder."

we're gonna play again tomorrow, something real rough happened to my character last time im on the edge of my seat-
(i think tomorrows gonna be our fifth session if i've counted right? but yeah, i'm editing stuff and we intend to post it as a podcast!!)
